| Description: | The Rehabilitation and Health Clinic, owned by the Nature Health Association of Iceland and located in Hveragerdi, is only a half hour drive from Reykjavik. The Clinic is a place of choice for all those who are in need of rehabilitation, regaining their strength or simply in need to rest. The Clinic has earned a solid reputation, both in Iceland and internationally, since its foundation in 1955 for personal and effective care of patients. The Clinic combines the most modern medical science with traditional cures which form the basis for its operation. The guests are taught to take responsibility for their own health and they are taught how to improve their lifestyles. Doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists, a nutritionist, sport instructors, massage therapists and an acupuncturist work together in interdisciplinary teams to provide a holistic solution for each patient. The treatment is based on promoting the body’s own ability to cure itself. The team’s aim is to harness this ability and to discover the root of the disease as well as to ameliorate and cure the symptoms. The Clinic operates in accordance with the policies and objectives of the World Health Organization (WHO) on wholesome lifestyles and nutrition.
