Renown both in Romania and abroad, Felix Spa lies in the Northwestern part of Romania, 9 km away from Oradea and 20 km from the Hungarian border. Located in the Crisurilor Plain, in a hilly region covered by beech and oak woods, at an altitude of 140 m, Felix Spa meets all the requirements of a blessed health resort.
The earliest document that mentions Felix Spa “Termae Varadiensis“ or “Oradea Spa“, dates back to 1221. Between 1700-1721, Felix Heldres discovers the Felix spring and gives it a good therapeutical use. The Spa will gradually grow and become known as „Felix Spa“, after his name. The first testing on the healing powers of the Felix thermal mineral water was performed in 1731 and it still proves accuracy.
The water-lily or lotus (Nymphaea Lotus var. Thermalis), the symbol of the Spa, was found here in 1789 by the botanist P. Kitaibel and named as such in 1908 by J. Tuzson, who compared it to the Nile water-lily. In 1931 this plant was declared unique and a protected species.
Gold medal and Honorific Diploma were awarded to this Spa thermal and mineral waters in 1896 at World Exhibition.

Those who need these curative treatments will benefit from the calcium, bicarbonate, sodium, sulphates, oligometals and silicon, law salt concentration (aprox. 1g/l) and very low radioactivity (1,15 u.m. /l).
