| Description: | TRENČIANSKE TEPLICE A world known health resort famous due to its unique springs. The springs come out from beautiful nature. The novelist Mór Jókai called the health resort " The pearl of the Karpaty mountains ." The spa lies in the western part of Slovakia in a picturesque, quiet valley, surrounded by a chain of coniferous as well as deciduous forests of Strážov mountains. The romantic surroundings of the spa offers its guests quietness, ease and recovery, its fauna and flora contribute a lot to feel well. The spa treatment by its activities plays an important role on the process of maintaining, regenerating and developing of physical and psychical health. The health care in the Slovak health resort Trenčianske Teplice /joint - stock company/ has long - term tradition (first written report is since 1247) and is based mainly upon using of natural, mineral, thermal, sulphureous curative water. At present, except of curative water a lot of methods are used from the field of remedial rehabilitation and physiotherapy. In case of degenerative and inflammatory diseases the aim is to relieve pain, maintain or improve an extent of motion, improve muscular force and muscular balance, prevent from origin of deformities, contractures and decrease muscular mass,cease or slow down progression of disease, improve functional and working capability, postpone disability and decline consumption of anti-inflammatory drugs and analgetíc. The spa treatment of neurological diseases includes practically all kinds of neurological diseases except of epilepsy and attacks conditions. The general indication of the spa treatment is improvement of mobility, relieve of painful states and maintaining of quality of life in older age.The positive effect of the spa treatment on the psychical condition of sick people is important. The aim of the spa treatment after accidents and operations of the locomotor apparatus is mainly relieve of pain and muscular spasms, improvement of extent of motion by selected exercises from rehabilitation, elimination of those pathological stereotypes arised by long immobilization and preservation of painful extremity or spine, prevention from wrong locomotor habits, practise of self-sufficient activities and fast return to working process and as well as improvement of quality of life Trenčianske Teplice has a favourable climate for spa stays, as well as for sports and recreation. The most important factor is the altitude of 272 m. It is one the few spa resorts, that have preserved its pure spa character. The air is clear, fresh, without pollution. There are the state nature parks in the surroundings – „ Baba and Zihlavnik-Baske", too. |
