New Content of the Portal
The VisitEuropeanSpas.com internet portal is an official project of the European Spas Association and is essentially the only functional portal that promotes the European spa industry and balneology. The goal of the portal, among others, is to present the member countries of the Association as spa destinations and to promote the services of Association members through this new marketing and distribution tool. The portal is currently available in English and German language versions.
The portal currently features presentations of 54 spa facilities, of which 18 are located in the Czech Republic, 5 in Estonia, 3 in Iceland, 1 in Lithuania, 1 in Latvia, 6 in Hungary, 4 in Germany, 4 in Romania, 8 in Slovakia, 1 in Serbia, and 3 in Turkey. These numbers indicate the great interest these individual countries have in the global promotion of the European spa industry. Visitors to the portal will find presentations of a total of 835 spa locations, 25 member countries, 1,411 photographs, and 8 virtual tours (currently only Czech spa sites).
Since being launched in the middle of 2006 the portal has undergone numerous modifications and improvements. A page of “Certified Facilities” has been added to the portal, offering an updated list of spa facilities certified by the European Association. We have also introduced “Request Service”, which allows portal visitors to send their requests to any of the spas presented. Visitors can also send photographs of the spas to friends and family as postcards. We have added a separate section specifically for professionals to the menu. This section now includes a page entitled “Articles for Professionals”, where, in cooperation with partners, we will present news from the field. This will then be sent out in a newsletter to professionals around the world. The section also features information regarding EUROPESPA Certification and the European Spas Association. In the future we would also like to present news about spas and their special offers for regular spa guests, which form the majority of visitors to the portal.
